It’s been a busy few months here at Goddards with a varied mixture of schemes completed on time, to budget and to an exceptional finish and these include:
Constructing large, mature gardens around a number of new build private residences on St George’s Hill Estate, Weybridge:
Construction of communal gardens around an exclusive, gated development to the South of Winchester; Incorporating semi-mature trees, clipped instant beech, Portuguese laurel hedging, mature shrub and herbaceous planting and extensive fine turf lawns with some properties also having outdoor terraces graced with fine Italian topiary and Mediterranean inspired her gardens.
A ground remodelling exercise near Hungerford with involved the relocation of 4000m3 of spoil to a new position 800m away, regrading, topsoiling and 3 hectares of wildflower seeding.
Landscape works to boulevards, front and rear gardens, public realm and community areas on a large, high quality housing development near Chichester:
We are very excited about the coming months and beyond, as we are in the fortunate position of having many highly prestigious contracts awarded to us, to increase the already healthy order book, extending into 2016.
Congratulations to Mike Johnson our Contracts Manager who has just received his 15 years service badge. Mike has been instrumental in the expansion and success of the Maintenance Division of the business over recent years and carries a great deal of knowledge and experience enabling the company to receive many awards.
A fond farewell to Grosvenor Waterside; after 10 years of phases… this was the last.
Under the spotlight of all St James top brass, we put together a Chelsea Flower Show standard series of gardens fit for its Chelsea venue.
Installation of custom made GRP planters with specimen clipped Taxus topiary.
Our team dovetailed amongst other trades to complete the installation in just a week as instructed… overtaking others in the process, as you can see! Well done Julian and Ethan.
During a break in storm force winds and rain at one of our sites in the centre of London; decking bundles being craned into position onto the 5th floor of this landmark building next to the BT tower.
Joe and Jamie complete training in fruit tree pruning at one of our blue-chip private residences. One of a series of site specific skills, taught by out in-house management team.
Once again VolkerFitzpatrick have turned to Goddards to work with them on another exciting landmark project. Team Leader Adam Stokes and his colleagues are currently working on a large landscape scheme adjacent to the iconic O2 Dome on the Greenwich Peninsula.
the scheme involved the planting of a large number of 60cm girth box headed limes and 70cm cubed planes to frame the new AEG Hotel Access road along with some open-headed 60cm tree around the O2 VIP Parking Area.
We’re also planting hundreds of laurels ranging in height from 1.2m to 3.0m+ along with extensive turfing with ‘EverEdge’ transitions, TechniCable wall wiring, planting of climbers and shrubs and high spec. 24 month maintenance period.
Goddards have produced another stunning new build soft landscape school project! Sarum Academy near Salisbury now boasts new playing fields, a system of water management swales with native wetland planting and extensive architectural beds agains the new build campus. Phase 1 completed at the end of 2013.
Phase 2, infrastructure tree planting, shrubs and herbaceous border set off by sculptural mounds to entrance and car parks will follow in Spring 2014.
Goddards are thrilled to be part of the team at Bolnore Village who have been awarded Gold and Overall Category winner for an Urban Community at the South and South East in Bloom Awards and Silver for the South East Region of Britain in Bloom Awards.
Bolnore Village has an active residents association who have a keen interest in the landscaping. The Goddards maintenacne team at Bolnore worked closely with the residents association for this years entry into the Britain in Bloom awards. With the help of Goddards a group of 100 residents planted over 3000 herbaceous plants over a weekend in April. Goddard’s maintenance staff volunteered thei time in order to oversee and assist the residents in the planting.
Goddards supported and encourage the entrance into the Britain in Boom competition as we feel this team effort helps to stengthen relationships between the residents and the Goddards team as they worked together to make Bolnore Village an award winning environment.
Our Peter Bassett represented Goddards at the opening of the Pistoia Nursery Park, the first in Europe, with all the trees supplied by Vannucci Piante with lighting by iGuzzini. Peter was a guest of Europlants and made up a party of 10 which included representatives from, among others, Charnwood Landscape Design Ltd (Elizabeth Loynes), and BALI (Wayne Grills – Chief Operations Officer).
We thank Renato Canale, his ever attentive representatives led by Oscar Puig, and Vennino Vannucci and his staff for their hospitality and the invaluable and informative time at the Nursery.
Peter said “It proved to be an exhausting but exceedingly enjoyable event with a great and diverse collection of guests who spent the time seeing fantastic stock in an amazing new park and exchanging views and experiences in a relaxed informal setting.”
