Adjacent to a proposed slip road route the site covers 21,000m2.

The primary objective to translocate all reptile species to newly created safe enclosures or to nearby reserves.

Reptile exclusion fencing, pitfall traps and scrub clearance enabled the on site ecologist to collect and relocate some 12 Adders, 160 Slow worms and 70 Common Lizards to newly enhanced habitat or adjacent SSSI sites.

The retained habitat has been enhanced by cutting back woody heather, removing all gorse and broom and raising tree canopies to increase light penetration.

Badger sett gates were used as part of an exclusion regime and sectional felling of mature trees will continue in the autumn to ensure safe mitigation of the Bat population.
